Auditing and verification

Facts and figures that have not been checked by the European, national or regional authorities, have to be verified by a statutory auditor as defined in Directive 2006/43/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2006 on statutory audits of annual accounts. For non-EEA countries, this has to happen by an auditor complying with all the requirements of International Standards on Auditing and accepted beforehand by the EKOenergy Board.

The audit will be based on a checklist provided by the EKOenergy Secretariat.

For the official version of our Auditing rules, see chapter 11 of the text EKOenergy – Network and label. The rules are further specified in the Licence Agreement (to be signed by all sellers of EKOenergy)
