We are supporting projects in Syria, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Liberia with a total sum of \u20ac205,564.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These new grants add to the multi-year and short-term projects we have already decided to support in 2025, making this year our most impactful yet. Earlier this year, we confirmed funding for four multi-year projects \u2014 each exceeding 1.5 million USD \u2014 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ekoenergy.org\/ar\/six-new-solar-energy-projects-funded-with-e308583-thanks-to-ekoenergy-consumers-worldwide\/\">six smaller projects for a combined amount of 300,000 euros<\/a>. In addition, we have kept supporting the previously funded, ongoing multi-year projects and several projects in Mali and Myanmar through the Siemenpuu Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bringing solar energy to communities in need<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In North-East Syria, we are supporting Un Ponte Per ETS to solarise local water schemes and secure safe drinking water for at least nine remote villages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In rural Tanzania, Oikos East Africa is replacing diesel-based water pumps with reliable solar systems to ensure sustained access to clean water for under-resouced communities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the South Kivu Province of the DR Congo, Initiative Humanitaire pour le D\u00e9veloppement is installing solar energy at a rural hospital to enable life-saving care, maintain vaccine refrigeration, and secure clean water for both patients and surrounding villages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In rural Liberia, Concern Worldwide is equipping two healthcare facilities with solar power to improve medical services after dark and safeguard the cold chain for vaccines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about these projects, as well as about all other projects we have funded over the past years, check out the map below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Help us do more<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each year, we receive many grant proposals from promising projects, but demand still exceeds available resources. We warmly welcome additional support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can make a difference by switching to an EKOenergy-labelled energy contract. Our Climate Fund collects a minimum of \u20ac0.10 from every megawatt-hour of EKOenergy sold, channeling these contributions directly to carefully selected renewable energy projects in low- and middle-income countries. This mechanism allows EKOenergy users to have a direct impact on communities in need while supporting sustainable development by using renewable energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are already an EKOenergy user, we always welcome additional contributions to our Climate Fund.
