Other key elements include our efforts to <strong>extend the benefits of the energy transition to all<\/strong>, <strong>science-based action<\/strong>, and the <strong>involvement of as many people as possible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These different aspects are not nice add-ons but, in many ways, essential to speed up and win the fight against catastrophic climate change. And unfortunately, they are less evident than just one decade ago. Biodiversity loss continues alarmingly, while polarisation and conflicts within and between countries make coordinated action more difficult. Furthermore, the rise of irrationalism, populism, and authoritarianism hinders the development of sound climate and energy policies in numerous ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The antidote to these challenges is not complaints and despair but concrete action on the ground<\/strong> \u2013 and this is precisely where initiatives like EKOenergy play a crucial role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We did a lot, and we achieved promising results. We hope our concrete actions and their tangible, impactful results will continue to inspire and encourage others to act for climate-friendly societies where no one is left behind. If you want to support us by becoming an EKOenergy user or EKOenergy seller, don&#8217;t hesitate to contact us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here are some of our actions and achievements in 2024:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We welcomed <strong>42 new authorised sellers<\/strong> from all inhabited continents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We collected more than <strong>5 million euros in our Climate Fund<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The number of pre-approved installations in our EKOdirect database grew from about 4,500 to over 7,750.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have meetings with energy companies and energy users from all over the world daily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>24 RE100 companies<\/strong> (large businesses committed to using 100% renewable electricity) use EKOenergy-labelled electricity in one or more of the markets where they operate, and some of them in all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We donated \u20ac100,000 from our campaign budget to initiatives to bring solar power to a hospital and daycares in Ukraine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>we recruited two extra employees. One focuses on outreach to corporate energy users; the other supports our authorised sellers in offering EKOenergy to their clients<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We sent out 14 newsletters. All newsletters contain examples of our concrete achievements and give concrete<br>suggestions of how companies of all kinds and sizes can work with our label to make an additional positive impact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the beginning of 2024, we received 253 applications in response to our call for short-term renewable energy projects. After a multi-stage selection process, our board approved the selection of <strong>21 solar projects from 17 countries<\/strong> in June.
