In December 2022, we decided to use 20,000 € from our renewable energy campaign budget to support the World Wind Energy Association’s #renewables4ukraine campaign. The objective of the campaign is to ensure that critical infrastructure in the country has a reliable supply of renewable energy. The campaign aims to cover important civilian needs during wartime by bringing solar power to schools and hospitals.
The campaign also highlights the importance of the clean and sustainable reconstruction of Ukraine after the war.
A part of our contribution has been used to finance 2 autonomous mobile solar stations with electricity storage. One system is in the Kozyntsi Outpatient Clinic of Family Medicine in Bucha District and one system is at the Irpin Lyceum of Innovative Technologies.
We, at EKOenergy, are aware that this is a small step but we hope that our contribution inspires others to finance similar projects and that these small actions accumulate into a bigger movement. Seeing concrete results is encouraging and we hope to do more this year.
During the handover on 8 March 2023, Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association said:
“This international project initiated by EKOenergy label not only provides assistance to hospitals in the regions most affected by Russian aggression but also teaches school students how to use renewable energy sources in their everyday life. The use of mobile solar power plants manufactured by Ukrainian company KNESS, produced in Ukraine, is a vivid example of achieving own independence in everyday life through renewable energy sources.”
