An award for our biggest seller \u2013 Congratulations, ACT Group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We’re happy to announce that EKOenergy’s Oak Award 2026, for selling the highest volumes of EKOenergy in the previous year, goes to ACT Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACT Group specialises in decarbonisation and environmental impact solutions for companies worldwide. ACT’s experts support companies to measure, monitor, mitigate, and disclose carbon emissions across all scopes (1, 2, and 3), ensuring compliance with environmental standards and regulations. We are proud and happy that EKOenergy is part of that package of solutions, and it\u2019s great to see so many clients interested in and choosing EKOenergy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to everyone at ACT Group for your efforts in offering EKOenergy and for the smooth cooperation across tens of markets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four annual EKOenergy Awards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

EKOenergy-labelled renewable energy is available for consumers of all sizes, thanks to the steadily growing network of authorised EKOenergy providers worldwide. Working with so many knowledgeable and dedicated people is an absolute honour, and we are thankful to all of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once a year, we take a moment to highlight some of the most extraordinary achievements by awarding prizes in 4 categories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, we published the winners of this year’s Orchid Award<\/a>, for the nicest online presentation of EKOnergy and the Bamboo Award<\/a>, for our fastest grower. We will publish the Ivy Award winner later this month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Oak Award, for the biggest volumes of EKOenergy in the previous year, is for ACT Group. The company previously won the award also in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Oak?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In many cultures, oak trees stand for strength, resilience, and wisdom. Oak trees can grow very large and live a long time, often exceeding 1,000 years. Their timber is strong and hard, with many uses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACT Group and EKOenergy \u2013 Complementing each other well<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ACT has been offering EKOenergy since 2016. Over the years, ACT\u2019s experts have consistently optimised how they offer EKOenergy to clients seeking additional impact. The company gradually rose to the top 3 of the largest EKOenergy sellers. They won EKOenergy\u2019s Oak Award for the first time in 2024, and again this year. Thanks to everyone involved in this achievement!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We spoke with Alessio Di Credico, Director, Sourcing & Wholesale EMEA and Acceleration, to learn more about ACT, the cooperation with EKOenergy, and the ambitions for the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alessio, could you please tell us a bit more about ACT and recent developments at the Group?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At ACT, we spend our time on the decisions that make a climate commitment deliverable. What should you buy? Where can you source it? Does it fit your budget and risk appetite? We connect our clients to products and solutions that meet their needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A big focus now is connecting that market access and expertise with our digital services. We can help companies measure emissions, identify which suppliers to engage, and give those suppliers access to renewable electricity procurement. That brings us further into the decisions that shape a client\u2019s strategy, as well as the transactions that deliver it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That matters because a company can set one global renewable-electricity target, but buying against it means dealing with very different local markets. The options, prices, and constraints vary. Our job is to make the plan work where the buying happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the main reasons for your current EKOenergy clients to choose EKOenergy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACT and EKOenergy should work more closely around a shared mission, so that EKOenergy is not just a product ACT sells, but a clear joint proposition for companies that want renewable-energy procurement to deliver measurable environmental impact, strong traceability and credible communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What more can ACT and EKOenergy do together to convince more companies to commit to renewable energy and choose higher-impact solutions?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We should make it easier for a buyer to answer a straightforward question: what does the additional spend achieve? That is where closer collaboration can make a difference. EKOenergy brings environmental criteria, tracking requirements, and contributions to renewable energy projects through its Climate Fund. ACT brings access to supply and the experience to structure purchases around a company\u2019s budget, markets and timing. Together, we can give buyers a clearer account of what they are purchasing, what their contribution supports and what they can credibly communicate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s possible to make that case using real procurement examples that show the cost, environmental benefits, and the evidence behind them. That gives sustainability teams something specific to take to procurement and finance and helps those teams assess whether EKOenergy fits their priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our shared task is to make the environmental benefit clear enough to justify the investment, and the purchase straightforward enough to carry through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you see the renewable-energy market developing, and what role do you see for EKOenergy in the coming years?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As renewable-energy certificates become more commoditised, I expect companies to focus much more on traceability, hourly matching, and demonstrable additionality. That is where EKOenergy can stand out as a credible premium standard that helps companies prove quality and avoid greenwashing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you personally like most about EKOenergy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like being able to explain where the money goes. Through EKOenergy\u2019s Climate Fund, each labelled megawatt-hour contributes to new renewable energy projects in communities facing energy poverty. There is a concrete connection between a company\u2019s purchasing decision and something it helps fund.
Working in these markets, you spend a lot of time discussing price and volume. I value being able to bring that wider benefit into the conversation and explain how it happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
