A worldwide protected ecolabel
EKOenergy’s logo is owned by the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation (Suomen luonnonsuojeluliitto r.y.) and is legally protected worldwide.
EKOenergy’s name and logo can only be used by the following entities or people:
- Energy companies and energy consultants, under the conditions specified in the EKOenergy Agreement
- Users of EKOenergy-labelled energy, if they inform us beforehand and follow the rules of our Brand book
- Others may use our logo in exceptional cases for educational reasons. See page 5 of our Brand book.
Any other use of our logo is not allowed. The EKOenergy Secretariat always takes measures against unauthorised use of our logo. Check out the text Controlling the use of the EKOenergy label and action in case of infringements (PDF) for more information.
Inform us when you suspect an unauthorised use of our logo and name
EKOenergy’s stakeholders, including authorised EKOenergy sellers, NGO partners, and renewable energy activists worldwide, are vital in our effort to preserve the credibility of our label. Whenever you expect someone is using our logo in an unauthorised way, please contact us at info
ekoenergy.org. Please, whenever possible, also send us evidence such as social media posts, URLs, pictures, video clips, invoices/receipts, and ads featuring our name or logo (or logos that are clearly based on our logo).
