A prize for outstanding efforts in promoting EKOenergy-labelled energy
EKOenergy-labelled renewable energy is available for consumers of all sizes, thanks to the steadily growing network of authorised EKOenergy providers worldwide. Working with so many knowledgeable and dedicated people is an absolute honour, and we are thankful to all of them.
Once a year, we take a moment to highlight and award some of the most extraordinary achievements.
One of our annual awards is EKOenergy’s Ivy Award, for outstanding efforts in promoting EKOenergy-labelled energy. We are happy to announce that the Ivy Award 2025 goes to the British energy supplier 100Green.
100Green became an authorised EKOenergy seller in 2016 and launched an easily recognisable EKOenergy-labelled tariff in 2019. EKOenergy is readily available through all their sales channels, and on their website, they provide numerous compelling reasons for clients to choose EKOenergy. What makes 100Green extra special is that they not only sell EKOenergy-labelled electricity, but also EKOenergy-labelled gas (biomethane)!
Why ivy?
Ivy is an evergreen plant that climbs steadily, transforming buildings with its verdant splendour. EKOenergy’s Ivy Award is for honouring an EKOenergy seller for having made outstanding efforts in promoting EKOenergy-labelled energy.
Congratulations 100Green!

We asked Amy Barker, Head of Marketing at 100Green, to tell us more about 100Green and about the cooperation with EKOenergy.
Hello Amy, could you tell us more about 100Green?
We’re probably the UK’s best-kept energy secret. We’re an independent energy supplier who made a commitment almost 25 years ago, to not grow any faster than our green credentials allow us to. And when we say green, we really mean it. In fact, we are the only domestic supplier in the UK to exclusively sell both 100% renewable electricity as well as gas. Our customers, both domestic and commercial, value the simplicity of our proposition; there are no complicated carbon offsetting schemes or promises to move away from fossil fuels in the future. It’s already 100% green from source.
How does EKOenergy fit into your policy and strategy?
Over the last two decades, we have often found ourselves at the forefront of change in the energy market; quietly championing a more sustainable energy future. For example, we were first to market in 2017 with a true Time-of-Use tariff, rewarding people for using electricity at off-peak times of the day and night. This tariff still exists today and has expanded into a suite of multi-rate tariffs designed to suit different lifestyles.
Our EKOenergy-labelled EKO tariff perfectly reflects our desire to offer customers an energy plan that matches their own values and lifestyle choices.
Arguably renewable energy is still in its infancy, and there are plenty of sceptics who challenge its validity at every turn. And there’s no getting away from the fact that even the generation of green energy can have a negative impact on our environment. Partnering with EKOenergy demonstrates our commitment to helping address the challenge of building new energy infrastructure across the UK, without damaging fragile ecosystems and habitats.
What are the main reasons why your customers choose EKOenergy?

Uniquely, we apply the eco-label primarily to our domestic offering. Consumers are increasingly looking for brands that reflect their own values and can align with the causes they support.
EKOenergy, as an organisation, not only offers the reassurance that local wildlife is protected, but also the promise that a contribution is made to funding renewable projects in locations around the globe that need them most. This is a compelling proposition that resonates with those who are particularly conscious of their own impact on the environment and looking for reassurance that their energy choice is making a difference. And with EKOenergy, the difference isn’t just their own carbon footprint, but there’s a much wider impact too.
As well as doing more to protect the environment, the eco-label provides an additional level of reassurance by verifying that the certification of our green energy is accurate. In an increasing complex market, transparency and authenticity are standards that our customers expect us to deliver on.
What do you personally like most about EKOenergy?
I’ve been at 100Green for 5 ½ years and I have to be honest, I loved our EKO tariff from day one. Switching on a light in your home requires practically zero effort. The only time we think about it is if the light doesn’t work. I won’t lie — it’s not easy to get people to think about anything more than the light switching on when you need it.
But at 100Green, we know that behind this insignificant, repetitive, mindless action, there’s a whole bunch of people who have made it happen – and they’ve achieved it without destroying the planet in the process. It’s these people that need celebrating and for me, EKOenergy’s eco-label represents the innovation, care and passion that all our partners bring to our supply chain. After all, people don’t buy what you do… they buy why you do it.
Thank you, Amy and colleagues! We look forward to what comes next!
