
An ecolabel for consumers of all sizes
Our nonprofit label helps consumers of all sizes make a positive difference. Ever since our launch, we have worked hard to gradually expand the network of authorised EKOenergy sellers to make EKOenergy-labelled electricity more readily available in more countries each year.
While many are aware that EKOenergy users include large multinational companies such as Microsoft, SAP, and Mercedes-Benz, it’s good to remember that every action counts. Every additional user helps us achieve more, and many small users together form one big.
We also enjoy staying in touch with EKOenergy users worldwide. There is so much we can learn from experienced and committed companies around the world.
Recently, we had the pleasure of speaking with Alessio Millarelli, chartered accountant, and Antonello Millarelli, manager for web services and communications, and expert responsible for anti-money laundering. We asked them a few questions to understand better what led them to choose EKOenergy. During our meeting, we perceived how sustainability is an important pillar for them.
How did you find out about EKOenergy?
We have been looking for a way to contribute and make a concrete difference through a sustainability certification. After some research, we learned about EKOenergy thanks to ForGreen, a company with the goal of promoting the use of renewable energy, as well as our renewable energy supplier. So, EKOenergy appeared to us as the most accessible and impactful solution.
What convinced you to choose EKOenergy over the other options?
In addition to certifying energy from renewable sources with strict environmental criteria, we chose EKOenergy because it allows us to contribute to your Climate Fund, which finances energy projects in low- and middle-income countries. This ethical impact is important for us.
Have you had the opportunity to use the EKOenergy logo in your communications? If so, how?
We have the EKOenergy logo on our official website and in our newsletter. We have been using the label for about five years to demonstrate real involvement and show our customers how important environmental issues are for us. We deeply care about spreading the word and ensuring our customers know that EKOenergy is a valid option to prove commitment to climate action.
