YK toivoo näiden esimerkkien antavan inspiraatiota hallituksille ja sidosryhmille heidän pyrkimyksissään torjua kriisiä, vähentää tulevaisuuden mahdollisten hätätilanteiden riskiä sekä toteuttaa kunnianhimoinen ja osallistava visio Agenda 2030:sta. Jokaista MWh EKOenergia-merkittyä energiaa kohden vähintään 0,10€ menee EKOenergian Virtavesirahastoon, jotka käytetään jokien kunnostushankkeiden rahoittamiseen. Tälle vuodelle ja viime kevään hakukierroksen jälkeen meillä on rahastossa edelleen 15 000 € jäljellä. Rahat tulevat EKOenergia-merkityn vesivoiman myynnistä Suomessa ja käytetään siksi Suomessa toteutettaviin projekteihin. Haluamme jakaa nämä rahat vielä tänä vuonna ja otamme vastaan hakemuksia.
